BPE is launching the Boston Educator Pathway!
The Boston Educator Pathway is a new initiative to connect talented young people to careers in education. We are launching the Boston Educator Pathway to connect Boston students with Boston educators to allow them to explore a career in teaching.
Educator Pathway Mission:
To develop young people into future educators who embody critical consciousness, empathy, and professional excellence—and who prepare their students to become civically engaged individuals ready to launch purposeful, wealth-building careers.
Educator Pathway Vision:
Our pathway ensures aspiring educators enter the field with a deep sense of identity, purpose, and community responsibility—ready to build learning communities that affirm all learners and transform education into a force for liberation.
Educator Pathway Overview: By networking PreK-12 schools, early childhood education centers, higher education, and nonprofits, we aim to create a set of clear, accessible, high-quality pathways that enable skilled and committed Bostonians to become educators.
We recognize that educators exist beyond the classroom. From school social workers to camp counselors to youth development workers, each educator can play a vital role in students’ lives. Our pathway helps aspiring educators explore diverse roles in the field, build the skills needed for their areas of interest, map out steps toward their goals, and navigate challenges along the way.
The Educator Pathway Offers:
- Career Exploration & Internships: Students have the opportunity to explore different roles in education throughout their journey in the educator pathway. Through our collaboration with partner organizations, students can intern in early childhood programs, our K-12 schools, and in youth development organizations.
- Training and Credentialing Pipeline: Through Boston Teacher Residency and our partner higher education institutions, we support educators in earning the proper credentials needed to advance in their careers.
- Job Placement: The educator pathway connects participants to a network of Boston-area organizations with job opportunities that align with their interests and experience.
- Mentorship: Each participant is matched with a mentor to help them navigate challenges, build confidence, build their network, and grow professionally.
