What is this program?
The Early College Academy is a partnership between The Dearborn STEM Academy and Franklin Cummings Tech that places 7th and 8th graders on a path to earning a free Associate’s Degree from the Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology (formerly Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology) by the time they earn their high school diploma from the Dearborn. There will also be the opportunity for some students to stay for a potential 13th year – we call them “super seniors” – in order to finish their Associate’s Degree

Who is this for?
This is for all students – but students will have to do extra work! There will be a summer programs for students, and students will have accelerated coursework while at the Dearborn.
When does this start?
Our Summer Academy will start this summer (2023) and will be in-person at the Dearborn. Students will be enrolled in academic and college/career activities.
- Students will each receive a stipend – $1000
- The program will be 4 weeks long, 4 days/week M-Th, 8am-11:30am and will include 1 college/career field trip per week, 1 skill building workshop per day, community building/check in as well as accelerated ELA and Math instruction.
- If a student and family are interested but will be out of town this summer, we will work with you to ensure that your child can be prepared for the fall.
