BPE has operated Dearborn STEM Academy since August 2015. Since then:
The school’s attendance is 92%, which is among the highest attendance rates for BPS high schools.
94% of 8th graders chose to stay at Dearborn STEM for high school, though all BPS high schools are options for our students.
Over the past three years, we have quadrupled the number of rising 9th grade students choosing the Dearborn as a top three choice among open enrollment schools in the first round of BPS admissions.
We have cut the Dearborn annual attrition rate by roughly 40%
In 2018, 100% of seniors were accepted to college, with over $1.3M in scholarships. In 2019, 90% of our seniors have been accepted to a 2- or 4-year college or post-secondary program, with over $1.7M in scholarships. Acceptances include: Brandeis, Wentworth, UConn, Temple, WPI, UMass Boston/Dartmouth/Lowell, Providence, Assumption, Salem State, University of New Hampshire, Suffolk, Merrimack, Northeastern and Boston College.
