Celebrate 40 Years of Impact with BPE
BPE was founded in 1984 to deepen investment in Boston’s public schools, particularly in Dorchester and Roxbury. In 2003, we launched the Boston Teacher Residency (BTR), which recruits, trains, and supports educators in high-need areas. Over the last twenty years, we have prepared a diverse group of nearly 800 teachers in high need areas such as math, science and special education who serve approximately 18,000 students throughout BPS.
BPE has also established two Teaching Academies in Roxbury to expand equitable access to high-quality STEM education:
- Dudley Street Neighborhood Charter School (PreK-5) – opened 2012
- Dearborn STEM Academy (7-12) – assumed operations 2015; recently removed from DESE’s list of underperforming schools
Through these initiatives, BPE develops great teachers and leaders, strengthens school systems, and supports pathways that prepare young people for college and career success.
To celebrate this milestone, we invite you to join us for BPE’s 40th Birthday Bash, an evening that brings together leaders from education, business, philanthropy, and the broader Boston community who share a commitment to public education.
Sponsorship: Support BPE’s mission and gain visibility among Boston’s leaders in education, business, and philanthropy.
