Continuing in its role as a partner who
pilots new initiatives, the Boston Plan implements several important projects
with schools:
- Formative Assessments of Student Thinking in Reading (FAST-R) - Tools and support to assist teachers and schools in using student performance data as a rich source of insight into student thinking
- SAM-Boston - A new initiative in five schools that assist teams of teachers and administrators as they collaboratively address the needs of a struggling learners
- Fund for Teachers-Boston (FFT) - A collaboration of the Boston Plan for Excellence and the Boston Public Schools that offers grants for summer travel and study
- Principal For A Day (PFAD) - An opportunity for Boston's corporate and community leaders to spend a day in a school with a principal-headmaster, teachers, and students and to learn about their efforts to improve instruction in literacy and math
