Prior to joining BPE, Ms. Brin worked as the Disability Accommodations Ombudsman for MassHealth, overseeing compliance with state and federal ADA regulations, ensuring appropriate reasonable accommodations, investigating complaints and resolving grievances, and working on major projects and policies to enhance accessibility for members and applicants with disabilities. With a sincere passion for social justice, advocacy and equity in education, Elaina has worked for agencies such as Springfield College, Boston Public Schools, and The Massachusetts Commission for the Blind. Presently she volunteers for the YWCA, as a facilitator of “Dialogues Against Racism”, assists with donation collection for The Movement Inc. and as serves as the Director of Website Development for Teens Against Gang Violence. In 2010, Elaina graduated from Springfield College, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Human Services with a concentration in Community Youth Development. She later went on to complete a Graduate Certificate Program in Education Policy at UMass Dartmouth and is a recent graduate of Wheelock College, where she earned a Master of Science in Education and Organizational Leadership.
