Dear friend,

Every child deserves an excellent education. Your child. My child. Every child.

Boston can be the first city to fulfill this basic promise of our democracy. At BPE, we are working to drive exceptional outcomes for all students by developing great teachers and great schools. Our vision: One day, all the children of Boston will attend schools where students are respected, inspired, and challenged as learners.

The current reality is that only 36% of all students in the Boston Public Schools (BPS) are proficient readers by third grade.Children who don’t read by third grade are far more likely to fail future courses, drop out of school, struggle financially, and face incarceration.

We know what it takes to change this pattern: great teaching and great schools. BPE is making that happen by:

·       running a world-class clinical teacher preparation program that prepares diverse, high-quality teachers for Boston’s public schools;

·       opening a unique new school in the Dudley neighborhood in which all children will reach proficiency;

·       partnering with a group of schools to achieve whole-school improvement through a coherent set of school supports.

With your help, we can ensure that every child has an excellent education. Please make a gift today that will help us make this aspiration a reality. Thank you for believing in the possibility thatall children can learn and succeed.

Yours for success,

Jesse Solomon

Executive Director
