BPE School Data Network

BPE launched the School Data Network for elementary and secondary schools in 2011, to bring together data analysts and school leaders who view data use as a core value and practice for continuous improvement. The purpose of the network is to create a community of learners that enables best practice sharing among schools and to collectively problem solve and share ideas and resources on particular areas. The network is for all types of schools – charter and non-charter alike. Convenings take place twice a year; in between sessions, network members communicate via a Google Group.

 Topics covered include:

·         Expectations around data use in schools

·         Roles and job descriptions

·         Teachers’ use of data

·         Data Management Systems

·         Analytics

·         Student assessments

·         Student attendance and behavior

·         Teacher evaluation

·         Public data

·         Goal setting and progress monitoring
